Jamie Graham – Co-Owner & District Manager New Balance Brandywine & New Balance Christiana
Jamie started with the company in May of 2002, working first as a Sales Associate and later as an Assistant Manager at New Balance Christiana. After graduating from the University of Delaware in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Jamie was offered the opportunity to become a managing-partner and opened New Balance Brandywine in 2005. Since then, Jamie has worked at seven different New Balance Store locations, including an e-tail company, as the Director of Operations, Merchandiser, and Apparel Buyer. Ever since the beginning of her initial involvement with New Balance, Jamie has been extremely dedicated to the company and to the New Balance brand. Jamie had a strong background in service and retail prior to New Balance, working for Hallmark, Christiana Care Christiana Hospital, and MBNA America. Jamie is very passionate about helping people, is spoken of very highly of anyone she outfits and can easily relate to her customers.
Jamie’s personal experience with foot and ankle issues inspired her passion for Pedorthics. While pursuing her degree in Psychology, she recognized her interest in the medical field from working at Christiana Hospital in the Patient Relations Department as a liaison between doctors and patient’s families. It wasn’t, however, until she began working at New Balance that she discovered how retail and the medical field coincides. “Who knew that there was so much to fitting shoes?” It was while working for New Balance that Jamie developed her passion for Pedorthics. “After years of running and injuries, I never realized why I had so many problems, until my training at New Balance. After visiting a Podiatrist and being fitted for orthotics I realized the importance of having the right shoes to accommodate them properly. It was then that I became really interested in Pedorthics, and fell in love with the profession.”
In February of 2009, Jamie attended Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and Eneslow School of Pedorthics where she received her pre-certification in Pedorthics and passed her board exams in May of 2009. She is certified by the American Board Certification of Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics and has continued her education by shadowing local Sports Medicine Podiatrists and Physical Therapists and by attending the 2010, 2011, and 2013 Pedorthic Footcare Association (PFA) Annual Symposiums.
